"I reflect more on humanity and the universe, thinking about the fact that we’re tiny beings, no bigger than a grain of sand, floating in space inside a sphere, in the middle of the void, the unknown, the deep darkness… It makes me question the most complex issues, such as, “Where did we come from?”, “How did it all begin? The universe?”, “Does our finite existence have any meaning or purpose?” It blows my mind in such an intense way... It seems that when we watch science fiction films, we think they're just that: fiction. In most cases, yes. But what if some of the films we watch are similar or even identical to something we don't yet know? It's impossible to fully explore the universe, we haven't come close, and we never will. This part is both dark and fascinating at the same time, because if only the observable stars are larger than the Sun, imagine what lies beyond? Beyond our galaxy... The largest black hole we thought was massive enough, 66 billion times the mass of the Sun, has been dwarfed by another black hole that was discovered, Phoenix A. So, thinking about all these things, why are we here in the middle of this vastness? There are things we consider important and valuable here, but out there they have no importance whatsoever. For example, wood. Earth is rich in this natural resource, but out there it's extremely rare, and we deforest and burn it... One of the things we desire here on Earth is diamonds, and it is so common in the universe that Neptune and Uranus rain diamonds! Have you ever considered that our planet might be one of the rarest, or maybe the only, richest planets in the entire universe? And we don't give it the importance it deserves. This small, pale blue dot is all we have, our protection, our home. We have nothing and we’re nothing out there, everything is hostile and capable of killing us if we don't use the correct equipment and oxygen. If all people reasoned like this, the world would be a better place, I think that this way, almost no one would be greedy and selfish. It's these moments of silence, when the world is asleep, that make me feel out of touch with reality. I love these subjects!"
